GENCO Surpasses OSHA 1,000,000 Million Hours Safety Milstone at Unilever's Midwest Distribution Center
PONTOON BEACH, Ill. - September 16, 2005 - GENCO today announced its teammates have worked more than 1,000,000 hours without a "lost-time recordable injury" according to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards at Unilever's 1,262,678 square foot Midwest Distribution Center in Pontoon Beach, Ill. GENCO has operated the facility since it opened on April 29, 2003, employing 210 people. To put this safety accomplishment into perspective, according to OSHA standards, a typical distribution facility of this size would have had 32 lost-time injuries over this period.

"This team understands the value of taking care of our customer, Unilever, by working safely and efficiently. Not only have they set this safety milestone, they are setting productivity and customer service standards as well," said Ed Ehrenberger, GENCO's General Manager. Mr. Ehrenberger continued, "This is the best staff of teammates I have worked with in my 30-year career and I am very proud to be associated with them." This has been a total team effort and, without the dedication of the men and women here today, this would not have been possible," concluded Mr. Ehrenberger.
