GENCO CEO and Chairman, Herbert S. Shear, to Receive 2005 Salzberg Medallion
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - March 31, 2005 - GENCO announced today that chairman and CEO, Herbert S. Shear, is this year's recipient of the Salzberg Medallion presented by the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Mr. Shear will be honored at the 54th Annual Harry E. Salzberg Memorial Program on April 1, 2005.
Salzberg Medallions are awarded to outstanding practitioners, advocates, academicians or researchers in the field of transportation, distribution and logistics management, and to companies for pioneering ideas and policies that have reshaped the industry. Mr. Shear is a recognized entrepreneurial industry leader whose innovations in reverse logistics have transformed returned merchandise from a cost center to a source of revenue generation and profit for the nation's leading retailers and manufacturers.
