Develops innovative RFID application for Schedule II drug processing
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - March 03, 2009 - GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, GENCO Pharmaceutical Services (GPS), a GENCO Supply Chain Solutions company and the pharmaceutical industry’s leading processor of pharmaceutical returns, today announced it received the Healthcare Distribution Management Associate’s (HDMA) Service Provider Runner-up iBusiness Solution Award at the HDMA Distribution Management and Technology Expo for its innovative application of RFID technology in the processing Schedule II drugs.
HDMA iBusiness Solution Awards have honored forward-thinking companies since 1987. These prestigious awards recognize HDMA members for technology-enabled process improvements in the healthcare industry. GPS was nominated by Cephalon. Winners are chosen by members of HDMA’s Industry Relations Council based on criteria that includes: value from productivity gains, new or expanded market access, new services to existing customers, improved customer service or satisfaction, eliminating time/costs in the supply chain and innovative use of technology.
