Partners chosen from more than 40 Innovation Award submissions
PITTSBURGH, PA – December 22, 2008 – GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, North America’s second largest and a Global Top 50 third-party logistics provider, today announced that its subsidiary, GENCO Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (GIS) was awarded two government contracts valued at up to $9.7 million.
The Defense Logistics Agency selected ADG Enterprises Inc., a Norcross, Ga.-based small disadvantaged business, and GIS to operate two Controlled Property Centers for the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service, headquartered in Battle Creek, MI. Under the contract’s scope of work, the ADG Team will manage warehouse operations at the Norfolk, VA and Stockton, CA (Columbus, OH) centers, providing the last physical check point before controlled property is released to the general public at the. The contract has a base period of 18 months with two 18-month options, for a total value of $13.78 million. GIS’s portion is valued at up to $5.85 million.
Additionally, GIS was awarded a three-year contract to perform support services at Patrick AFB, FL valued at $1,050,000 for the first 9 months and $1.4 million for two additional years, for a total value of $3.85 million. GIS will perform munitions management, material acquisition, travel arrangements, personal property movements and air terminal services for the 45th Space Wing. Located near Cape Canaveral, Patrick AFB plays a critical support role for NASA space operations.
Both contracts will commence on January 1, 2009.
