PITTSBURGH, Pa. - October 4, 2006 - GENCO today announced that its subsidiary, GENCO Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (GIS), was selected by the Department of the Army to provide Installation Support Services at Fort Lee, Virginia. The contract has a base period of one year plus four one-year options and is valued at $60 million over the five years. GIS commences work on December 1, 2006.
Fort Lee is situated on 5,500 acres in Virginia and has a combined 7,200 military and civilian population. It is home of the Army Combined Arms Support Command, which is responsible for the development and evaluation of combat service support and logistics concepts, doctrine, and planning factors for the Army. Fort Lee was recently designated as the Logistics Center of Excellence for the Army and will double in size over the next five year.
Under the contract, GIS will manage all activities and perform supply operations, transportation and material maintenance while its subcontractor, Advanced Federal Services of Madison, AL, will perform facility, housing, roads, grounds and utilities maintenance.
