PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 24, 2006 - GENCO today announced that Doug Ford has joined its Unsaleables business unit as their vice president of Business Development. Prior to GENCO, Ford worked at SC Johnson & Sons for 12 years, serving as their reverse logistics manger for the past five. As reverse logistics manager, he had ownership for development and implementation of all key reverse logistics strategies for: full case returns, unsaleables, secondary market sales and repacking operations. Ford has been a board member of the Grocery Manufacturer's Association, (GMA) Unsaleables Steering Committee since 2000, serving most recently as its co-chairman.
Mike Ghassali, the founder of Damage Research Inc. was named president of GENCO's Damage Research business unit when GENCO acquired the company in February 2005. Ghassali has over 20 years of experience working with consumer packaged goods manufacturers and has been instrumental in the development of the Unsaleables prevention industry. As a long time proponent of trading partner collaboration studies, he regularly brings manufacturers and retailers together with innovative approaches to damage prevention.
Don Rombach, vice president of GENCO's Damage Research business unit adds a wealth of reverse logistics experience. A 14-year veteran of GENCO, Rombach's entire career within the third-party industry has been focused on reverse logistics, including leading roles in operations, marketing, sales, strategic planning and customer service. His well-rounded background offers GENCO's customers practical solutions that can be implemented in the supply chain.
