New Web-based Tool Optimizes Supply Chain Management

Pittsburgh, PA - September 16, 2004 - GENCO announced today a new multi-purpose Web-based technology solution to support returns processing and order fulfillment for retailers and manufacturers. R-Log® PLUS enables retailers and manufacturers to seamlessly track, manage and audit returned product inventory. The revolutionary system provides real-time information and supply chain visibility while bringing cost cutting efficiencies and productivity improvements to returns operations.

Based on the original platform of R-Log®, GENCO's proprietary reverse logistics software, R-Log PLUS is highly configurable to meet specific processing requirements and the open architecture facilitates integration with all existing inventory management software and ERP systems.

R-Log PLUS is designed to accommodate multiple databases for multiple customers, adding flexibility by performing returns and order fulfillment capabilities at store and/or facility levels. The new technology platform offers shorter implementation time and less equipment cost due to web-based design and deployment. The store level functionality for retailers gives similar advantages of a centralized returns process such as simplifying and standardizing store returns procedures, disposition decision making on the fly, ability to accurately track store compliance on recalls and increase quality and accuracy for returned, damaged, unsold or overstock merchandise.

R-Log PLUS creates multiple reports for both the reverse logistics functionality and order fulfillment. Reports such as return reason codes, shipping reports, perpetual inventory and aging reports all enable users to make disposition decisions with real time information and reduce credit and deduction discrepancies with their major trading partners. Real-time information and supply chain visibility provides early indicators for inventory management, buying strategy/negotiation and helps to streamline volume and staffing.
