Parcel Rate Negotiation Process
GENCO's parcel rate negotiation process covers the entire spectrum
of services, from creating baseline data through awarding the parcel contract.
The entire process usually takes about 90 days to complete.
Our five step process is:
- Create a Baseline
In order to better understand a customer's current parcel spend GENCO creates a baseline of data, and writes a RFP that talks a customer's needs. The RFP scorecard that GENCO creates helps customers identify key components that address their parcel needs.
- Define your current parcel shipment.
- Conduct facility interviews
- Write the RFP
- Create a scorecard
- RFP Submission Process
Along with sending out the RFP, GENCO provides clarification services to carriers. Should a carrier have questions regarding the RFP, the carrier can call a helpdesk designed to specifically answer the questions.
- Send out the RFP to carriers
- Provide carriers with assistance in filling out the RFP (M-F 8hrs)
- RFP Analysis
Evaluating submitted RFPs can be daunting. Evaluation is made easier through data generated with GENCO's proprietary analysis tools. We provide data that details how each carrier will affect the baseline data and predict future results.
- Input RFP data into GENCO's analysis tools
- Provide comparisons on the carriers based responses as related to baseline data.
- Predict changes to the baseline data for each carrier in each facility
- Final Negotiations
The key to negotiating is providing data that supports a position. GENCO uses the data generated through baseline surveys, RPFs and analysis to create a negotiating strategy for our customers. We perform the final negotiations using the data and deliver parcel rates that meet projections.
- Use data generated to develop a negotiating strategy
- Perform final negotiations
- Achieve savings goals
- Award Contract
Once approved, contractual language is in place, GENCO submits the contract to customer's solicitors. The business is officially awarded to the carrier, and parcel auditing begins.
- Develop agreed upon contractual language
- Deliver the contract to our customer's solicitors
- Officially award the business to a carrier.
- Begin auditing parcel shipments
