GENCO's Pandemic Preparedness Plan
GENCO has taken a very proactive stance regarding planning and communications surrounding the H1N1 flu pandemic and is prepared in the event that this virus reaches epidemic proportions. Although it is our fervent hope that our planning will prove unnecessary, we feel it is the absolute prudent thing to do.
To that end, our planning, which has already been implemented, includes the following:
- Redistributed our pandemic emergency prep kit which includes management preparation guidelines and an educational presentation for all teammates explaining the facts versus fiction of the H1N1 virus, personal hygiene guidelines, and what to do in the event symptoms appear.
- Each facility has prepared a 3 Work Group Plan which allows the building to remain operational in the event of an emergency by breaking key personnel into 3 short shift work groups. This will allow a continuation of business while minimizing teammate contact with each other.
- Multiple posters have posted and informational handouts from various sources have been distributed.
- Sanitizers, wipes and in some cases gloves have been distributed.
- Corporate single point of contact is currently emailing updates twice daily to each of our operations.
The purpose of our planning is to ensure the continuation of operations, as close to normal as possible, in the event of a widespread outbreak of the virus. Additionally we hope to educate and train all of our teammates as to prevention techniques, personal hygiene practices, and appropriate response in case of a breakout in their region. Our ultimate goal is to keep our teammates safe while continuing normal business operations.
