Saving Through a Complete Supply Chain

Visibility Means Never Having to Say, "Where's My Shipment?"

Cutting your budget doesn't mean that your business has to do without. It means making sure that you pay for the things you need and don't pay for what you don't need.

Pretty basic, but when applied to visibility and its widespread impact on your supply chain operations, absolutely vital. If you're constantly wondering when the next shipment is going to hit the dock, what's in the warehouse, or what the transit time is to get your product to market, then it's pretty clear what you need to invest in.

GENCO's suite of services is designed to help you with your transportation and warehousing needs. Spending your money wisely to enhance your supply chain visibility can save time, money, and resources.

Inbound/Outbound Freight Optimization

Having the right tools in place can eliminate the guesswork from your supply chain. GENCO's goal for inbound and outbound freight is to cost effectively ship materials, so that they can be available for manufacturing and assembly or into stock for sale at the lowest possible landed cost.

Client Results
An investment by one of the world's largest producers of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment is paying off, thanks to a GENCO solution. The company centralized its international and domestic logistics management; created a baseline for LTL, TL, and parcel contracts to gain buying leverage; and implemented GENCO's transportation management system (TMS) to increase visibility. The company's streamlined transportation network has helped to produce a net savings of approximately 5 percent.

On-Time Delivery

Having access to the entire GENCO network enables you to control and deploy inventory, thereby improving your on-time delivery. GENCO systems integrate seamlessly with companies' warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP, and can be easily implemented in all business models, including systems that incorporate SAP, JD Edwards, RedPrairie, and Manhattan.

Cost Reduction

Inside your warehouse, people, inventory, and equipment are all being managed simultaneously-and each will affect your bottom line over time. With GENCO's proprietary WMS, you can manage labor by activity, increase fill rates, cross dock, increase on-time delivery/receiving/loading, save space, and reduce inventory.

One of the world's largest consumer goods companies realized several of these benefits when it implemented a GENCO solution. With a distribution center built/leased by GENCO, the company:

  • Virtually eliminated downtime by doing the implementation in stages.
  • Consolidated 28 facilities into nine.
  • Improved fill rates and on-time delivery.
  • Saved 0.5 percent of total revenue.

International/Domestic Partner

Your freight can be managed not only domestically but also internationally by freight forwarders. GENCO can directly manage freight from forwarders by pulling data from the freight forwarder into our TMS. GENCO interacts with freight forwarders' SAP through our W-Log middleware platform.

Visibility: The Wise Investment

The combination of a down economy and an intensely competitive market leaves companies with some hard choices entering the new budget season. Toward this end, saving, not spending, is a common strategy. But it doesn't have to be the strategy.

In fact, where and how you spend your transportation and materials management dollars can go a long way toward determining how profitable you are-and the return on investment from your supply chain.

Creating or enhancing visibility across your supply chain can save you time, money, and resources. GENCO's end-to-end solutions, from carrier selection to yard management, can drive costs from your supply chain, increase the efficiency of your transportation network, and improve your on-time delivery. We have the experience and technological expertise to implement the right software into your system, ensuring a seamless integration of our TMS with your ERP system.
